so now it's time to find a job...

 photo A8026AB9-5D06-4BDB-9CAF-A5DE7B0F4FEE_zps0w3muv9f.jpg
Today is day 32 of searching for a job post college...not to mention the 7 months before I graduated that I was interviewing. Needless to say...I'm feeling discouraged. I know I know I know...I'm 21 and it's barely been a month since I graduated, but I'm going stir crazy over here, people!!

Day in and day out I sit on my computer for about six hours searching for that perfect job. I've searched "Marketing Coordinator". I've searched "Social Media Assistant". I've searched "Public Relations Assistant". I've tried Just "PR". I've tried just "Marketing".  I've even applied for the same position more than once. So what's wrong? I'm a college graduate with over 3 years of experience. I did everything right...I went to college and completed countless internships and apprenticeships. Tell me...what am I doing wrong?!?!?

Well...for starters...my resume didn't even highlight my skills properly. For goodness sakes....I never even put the word "public relations" in it!! && Did you know your skills are more important than your job history? Ya! I didn't either! Who would've thought! Everyone tells you that your internships define your future, but really...it's not the title that defines you...it's what you DID! ---who would've thunk!

SECONDly...I was writing my cover letters ALL WRONG! I started out my CVs like my advisors and instructors taught me to. "To whom it may concern (insert name here), I am applying for the ____position posted on your website. I believe that BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH"<---------are you bored? I am!
The key...is to SELL YOURSELF right away! If you had 150 characters to sell yourself....what would you say? What is it about YOU that employers need to know?
Well I challenged myself to this and this is what I came up with:
"I’m a recent alumni of Michigan State University with more than three years of marketing, social media, public relations and blogging experience. I would love to bring my expertise and passion to your growing team." <----Intrigued? WAY LESS BORING!
I highlighted my experience and skills in the first sentence and voiced that I would be a good addition to their team! WHAT CAN YOU OFFER THEM???? But also...what can they offer you? As you write your cover letter...highlight the things you will bring to them, but also show that you NEED this position to expand your experience and allow you to thrive in your field.

Okay...I'm not an expert...and ...I still don't have a job...but in the last two weeks...I've had more calls than ever before because I changed those few things. If anyone else out there is going through the struggles I am...I feel you! It's rough. But, keep your head up and don't stop trying to improve your image. Your job is out there! You just may need to wait and continue to gain experience before it appears.

Steak:
I just purchased two rib-eye steaks and marinated them for 3 hours in a marinade created from Mt. Massive Steak rub from Savory Spice Shop
....then I grilled them medium

Egg:
Crack two eggs and cook them until they're over-medium

Potatoes:
I steamed red potatoes in a microwave steamer for 9 minute and mashed them with a fork...then cut up four squares of butter, add garlic and olive oil && a dash of pepper

Asparagus:
1. pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
2. toss asparagus in olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, parmesan
3. place on baking sheet
4. cook for 25 minutes or until cooked through. (if a fork can easily poke them through they're done!)
5. cut the ends off

SERVE & Enjoy!

This is an absolutely delicious meal & I hope you all enjoy!

Meet my cousin: Bri Tawadros

Hey y’all! My name is Bri Tawadros; I am 20 years old and am a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. This year Mary Kay Cosmetics is celebrating it’s 50-year anniversary.

My Favorite “Must Have” Products:

1. The Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. I LOVEEEE this product. If you only wanted to get one thing… this would be the thing to get!! How many of you have ever gone to sleep with your make up on? Well first of all that ages your eyes 7 days for every 1 night you sleep with your make up on!!! That’s crazy! And if that isn’t incentive enough… everyone has these little things called eye mites that live on your eyelashes. Well these mites feed off of your mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow! So when you’re sleeping with your make up on you’re allowing these creepy crawlies to feast and multiply while you’re asleep. This product is the only product out there that helps target eye mites to keep them from multiplying. Opra gave this away on one of her “Opra’s Favorite Things” episodes and it has won several awards. It’s one of Mary Kay’s top selling products!

2. The Time Wise Anti Aging Miracle Set
This includes a cleanser, a moisturizer and day and night solutions

3. If you have sensitive skin I highly recommend that you use The Botanical Skin Care set. I just switched to using this just so I could see the difference and it really is a very gentle line of products.

4. I love Satin Hands. It really keeps your hands super soft all day long. It lasts through 10 washes and up to 16 hours! Satin Hands comes in a peach sent and non scented (which really doesn’t smell like anything, it has cucumber extracts in it so if anything it resembles cucumbers)

5. I also use Satin Lips. It keeps your lips kissable all day long!! (; One major reason I love this product is because I no longer have to constantly reapply chapstik throughout the day. Satin Lips comes with a lip mask and a lip balm. Your lips are the only part of your body that don’t naturally exfoliate so the mask helps rejuvenate the skin and keeps them soft, longer.

I am wearing the colors Sterling covering my eyelid, Sweet Plumb in the corner, and I went over both of those with Honey Spice. These 3 colors all have shimmer in them. I am wearing Ultimate Mascara in black and Steely colored eyeliner. My eyebrows are done with a Blonde Brow Liner and a Blonde Definer Pencil.

I use Beige 4 Liquid Luminous Foundation as well as Beige 1.5 Mineral Powder Foundation.

I am wearing Red Crème Lipstick.
